where have i been

well it's been a while since i posted....mainly because i forgot my password and user name.
had to have a little time to get that taken care of and i am not very strong in the patience dept.

but i have just returned from a trip to south texas for the marburger antique show and to marfa
for the chinati open house. all was fun.

most memoriable would be:
south texas : truck spotted with christian fish and nra sticker on either side of the tailgate.
marfa: met joy who claims to be 80, although she was a damn youthful 80. joy was selling
rocks amoungst all of the art goings on. i loved that and stopped to talked to her and admire her
rocks. she went on to tell me all of the rocks and formations came from her land and she was a
trapper for a living most all of her life. she showed me photos of her from the 70's with her
in sexy western garb and many pelts and strung up animals she had trapped. my favorite was
her with some 8 ft. black panther. you don't hear many women in this trade. she said it was the
easiest money she thought she could earn at the time. sent all of the pelts to seattle. of course
times have changed, but thanks goodness someone like joy hasn't........
